I have been watching some of the games and have noticed the amount of time a player has to decide to swing their bat on a 60-70mph softball pitch. In softball, that is very fast because the pitching mound is closer to the batter than in mens baseball. I thought this video was interesting though. The girl mentioned that this specific pitch makes her use her legs. That is good because as she uses her legs, she is creating more power and force to her upper body. Another factor in the velocity of the pitch is her range of motion. She is able to create so much velocity by rotating her shoulder more than 360 degrees. Pretty crazy and fun to watch. 06-06-2013 8:08am
