Yes Mike, I agree coaches certainly need to be involved with supporting their participants to experience this phenomenon.  I always have a need to be perfect when I'm training in Shotokan and would lose confidence in my... more »Yes Mike, I agree coaches certainly need to be involved with supporting their participants to experience this phenomenon.  I always have a need to be perfect when I'm training in Shotokan and would lose confidence in my abilities.  Having a good coach helped me to move past the fear and once that happened I was able to achieve more than I had ever thought possible.  I would likely have never obtained my black belt if it were for the encouragement from my Sensei at the time.  Best, Robin 03-24-2015 7:19pm
