I came across this article after learning about bits and bytes in my Info101 class lecture.
This article has been shared on Facebook and Twitter. How Stuff Works has received multiple awards such as the “People’s Voice Award, “ and the “Honoree, Education & Reference Award”. This website seems to be very reliable and only includes factual information.
I learned that computers use binary numbers (bits) in place of decimal digits. Decimal digits have 10 possible values (0-9), and bits only have two possible values (0 and 1). Instead of a number being to the power 10, computers use the power 2.
This is very much related to computer science and informatics. To better enhance my understanding of bits and bytes I can join a mentoring and mentoree club called “Bits and Bytes”.
