I found this article very interesting being that it really touches one of the main points that we covered this week: the influence of self-confidence and mental factors in sports.  Dr. Cohn touched on two very interesting points... more »I found this article very interesting being that it really touches one of the main points that we covered this week: the influence of self-confidence and mental factors in sports.  Dr. Cohn touched on two very interesting points regarding self-confidence.  The first, he talks about believing in your abilities to win.  I think this is one of the biggest mental factors that influence performance. It is not hard to tell when an athlete is confident in his/her abilities to play a sport.  That confidence can be noticed on and off the playing grounds.  At the same time, it is not hard to see when that confidence is not at its high,  performance drop is obvious.  | The second point I found very interesting is how he talks about being confident not only in a certain sport as a whole but also being confident at individual tasks within that sport. It is very hard to be an all-around great athlete at any sport, everybody has their weaknesses.  Being good at certain tasks in a sport, and being confident about it, is as important as it is to be confident in the overall sport. 04-24-2015 7:07am
