This article discusses how yoga and deep/methodical breathing has been proven to reduce stress in individuals. What it does is it allows for us to push through those physical barriers which in turn helps make us stronger mentally. How many times have you felt that burn when you are stretching and just decided to give up? Yoga allows you to get comfortable with pain and stress on the muscles. It teaches you to delve deep inside yourself and relax the mind when your body is being stressed. Many of us carry stress in parts of our bodies (shoulders, neck, lower back) so by allowing your body to be passive and just open up makes us feel more lively and rid the body of stress. Finding this "zen" in our life is excruciatingly important.
