Pregnancy food: what you eat can affect your child for life

This article discusses how certain foods can affect your child's development. The author speaks about how unhealthy food has become very tempting for pregnant women nowadays. It was found that high consumption in fat or sugar can not only lead your child to obesity, but is also in risk of developing health disorders, lower cognitive abilities, and increased response in stress. This article is relevant to the discussions we have in motor development because consuming unhealthy foods while pregnant can affect a child's development of certain abilities.

I think this article is interesting because it reminds mothers that what they eat while the baby is in the womb does not stay in the womb. A baby in the womb who receives a diet high in fat and sugar can lead to the child growing up obese even putting the child at risk for mental health disorders, increased response to stress and lower cognitive behaviors. I think this article relates to what we discussed in class because a mothers actions and decisions while pregnant can negatively affect the baby in the future. 02-03-2016 3:15pm
