Gamer's Thumb

"Gamer's Thumb" is a very real condition that can have long-term effects on the hands and upper arms if the proper precautions are not taken. "Gamer's Thumb" is a repetitive stress injury (RSI) that causes swelling at the base of the thumb due to overuse of video games and hand-held devices.

I decided to upload this article because it relates to the thumb and finger joints that we have been discussing this week. I also thought it was a unique injury that we did not talk about in class. I wish "Gamer's thumb" was not a possible injury, but unfortunately it is a problem and should be monitored for in children. 10-13-2016 3:15pm
