Basic Biomechanics: Newton's Laws of Motion

This article clearly defines Newton's laws of motion and describes how it applies to biomechanics, the physics of body movement. For each law, there is an example of common movements and actions that explains how the physics work. As discussed in class this article illustrates how swinging a bat is an explain of the second law because acceleration and mass affect force, while running is an example of the third law because the foot pushes off the ground and the ground pushes back. The end of the article finishes with a brief summary of the three laws.

Good article, this relates to what we learned to in class as well as our homework assignment on Newtons laws. This article clearly gets across Newtons laws and helps us better understand with some good pictures. 01-22-2017 10:22pm
