10 Things I Learned While Dealing With the Death of a Loved One

It's been two years since my father passed away from cancer (Read: "For My Father"), and it was the hardest time that I have ever experienced in my life. At 24, I was completely lost, unable to express what had just happened to my family, and refused to allow the process of healing begin by closing myself off from everyone around me.

Most people do not understand the healing and grieving process that comes with death, unless they've experienced it first hand. I think this article does an excellent job explaining what goes through one's mind when they lose someone close to their hearts. The authors father died of cancer, and she explained how her loss effected her both mentally and physically. Sadness can really take a toll on the body and mind so it's important to find healthy methods to cope with loss before it takes over your life. 04-25-2017 12:12pm
