Assessing psychological well being not only helps people perform better at work, but also helps people focus on how to improve their psychological well being.

This article pertains to what we discussed in lecture because it goes into detail of what psychological well being actually consists of.  Many people will try to use things such as "crime, divorce, environmental problems, infant... more »This article pertains to what we discussed in lecture because it goes into detail of what psychological well being actually consists of.  Many people will try to use things such as "crime, divorce, environmental problems, infant mortality, gender equality, etc." to measure quality of life and quality of psychological well being.  However, those do not  accurately representation of the quality of one's life. Emotions and how we regulate and express them, the quality of our relationships (family, friends, significant other) and how confident we feel in them, and if we feel that our life has meaning--are all indicators of how psychological well we are.  Furthermore, this article explains that societies that only focus on how productive one is, will mainly focus on that being the main indicator of well-being.  Whereas societies that focus on the psychological well being of everyone put more of their energies into being psychologically well. 01-23-2017 2:14pm
