The FITT principle stands for Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type. An important part of these four is to be conscientious of your own health level and to not over exert yourself in all four categories or else there is risk of injury. I think that the FITT principle is something that everyone who works out should understand because it can help monitor your work out and help you progress your exercises as your fitness increases.
