In this article i found it talks about how to development of speed, agility, and quickness for the female soccer athlete. The article states the importance for top speed drills in female soccer players especially in positions such as midfielders who must cover long distances quickly. It also states that female soccer player have a larger reported ACL injury comarped to males so the exercises they perform during practice to prepare not only improvement of their speed but to prevent injuries is key in their sport. Such functional movements that incorporate the focus on sport-specific drills and plyometrics that implement on improving explosiveness may assist in the overall athletic conditioning of female soccer players. examples: high knees increasing hip flexors or strength and flexibility is a great way to improve the functional movement of speed and i agree after experiencing the workouts as well.
