It is important to know how far we have come to have equal rights for the LGBTQ people, although they are still not fully in equality. Just recently in 2016, 20 states banned the discrimination based on sexual orientation. But that is only 20 states, the rest do not have one at all or have an incomplete one. There is also other anti-LGBTQ bills, such as the religious exemption bills, that allows people to discriminate based on their religion. This focuses on what we talked in class about the discrimination against LGBTQ people in today's society. It is confusing to me as of why would someone would purposefully create bills to be able to discriminate, and I believe that they should not be allowed.
