Flow of Blood Through the Heart

Since we need to know the basic structure of the heart and the flow of blood for class I thought this video gives a good understanding of these things. I personally took Anatomy and Physiology last year so this video is an excellent reminder of what I have already learned, but even for those who haven't taken the A&P course or don't know much about this topic I believe this video is an excellent tutorial and thoroughly explains the flow of blood through the heart. One thing I will point out though is that the narrator/instructor forgot to mention that oxygenated blood is returned to the Left Atrium by the Pulmonary Vein from the lungs. Also, at one point in the video he mentions "blue blood", which he is only referring to the color he is using for that blood so it is easier to differentiate between the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. Just to be clear blood is not blue, it is either bright red or dark red. Other than that I feel as though this video demonstrates this concept extremely well.

I know we only talked about this briefly in class, but understanding the functions of the heart is vital not only for this particular class, but for many kinesiology classes in the future. 09-16-2018 10:22pm
