
I thought this related well to the bone growth through life because it relates personally. When I was in adolescence a part of my Talus bone died and when that happens it is called Osteochondritus Dissecans. It makes the bone brittle and weak so it is susceptible to an easy fracture. My circulatory system wasn't growing as fast as my bone so it fell behind and was a rate limiter in my case.
