Risks and prevention of ACEs

Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic experiences that children encounter. In class we learned that these experiences are are related to and effect the development of these children and they can cause a range of health problems throughout a person’s lifespan. This article lists the many different types of ACEs, and provided information that studies have found about ACEs, such as the percentages of people who suffer from specific types of experiences such as physical abuse. The article also explains types of prevention methods and efforts. The most important method is to reach out and talk to someone in the community so they can provide you with help.

I find it disturbing that ACEs is such a huge problem that causes many issues with children and even adults. This issue is literally killing people and I'm just now hearing about this issue! Also, being that the article brings up how many are harmed from ACEs, yet it's not widely known is horrible. Why is this not being brought up in every conversation; a majority of the population is at risk. 03-28-2019 6:18pm
